Halloween 2 remake update

Following the success of Rob Zombie’s initial reinvention of John Carpenter’s smash cult horror film HALLOWEEN which premiered number one at the box office breaking all Labor Day Weekend 2007 records, comes the sequel, HALLOWEEN II, hitting theatres nationwide on August 28, 2009 from Dimension Films.

With the enormously popular horror movie series back, writer-producer-director Rob Zombie, once again puts his own twisted twist on the soundtrack. Halloween II – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Hip-O/UMe), released August 25, 2009, and co-produced by Zombie, manages to bring together dialogue from the film as well as music from Motorhead, The Moody Blues, Scream (sans future member Dave Grohl), Rod Stewart, the MC5 and Foghat, alongside new psychobilly band Captain Clegg and the Night Creatures.

Frightmaster Zombie helmed 2007’s ninth installment in the HALLOWEEN franchise that began in 1978. HALLOWEEN II, which debuts August 28, picks up where HALLOWEEN left off, and focuses on the struggles of Laurie Strode (played by Scout Taylor-Compton) and killer Michael Myers (played by Tyler Mane).

The new recordings on Halloween II – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack include "Transylvania Terror Train" and "Honky Tonk Halloween" from Captain Clegg and the Night Creatures, who appear in the film. The band’s leader, Jesse Dayton, an Austin, Texas-based singer-guitarist who has played with Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Willie Nelson, was part of the duo Banjo & Sullivan that performed in Zombie’s 2005 flick The Devil’s Rejects and simultaneously released an album. Similarly, Rob Zombie Presents Captain Clegg And The Night Creatures (Stag/Zombie A Go Go) will be issued August 28.

Also new are "Laurie’s Theme" from John 5 produced by Bob Marlette, (Alice Cooper and Ozzy Osbourne); "Nurse Killa" from score composer Tyler Bates (Watchmen, 300, Halloween, The Devil’s Rejects); and a cover of Nazareth’s 1976 hit "Love Hurts" from singer Nan Vernon, who covered "(Don’t Fear) The Reaper" and "Mr. Sandman" for HALLOWEEN.

The classic tracks range from The Moody Blues’ 1966 psychedelic gem "Nights In White Satin" and 10cc’s cheery 1977 hit "The Things We Do For Love" to Rod Stewart’s 1972 cover of The Temptations’ "(I Know) I’m Losing You," Foghat’s 1972 take on Willie Dixon’s "I Just Want To Make Love To You" and the MC5 proto-punk masterpiece "Kick Out The Jams," which was recorded live in Detroit on Devil’s Night/Halloween 1968. The lesser-known vintage tracks hail from the early ‘80s: "Amerarockers" by hardcore punkers Scream, "The Chase Is Better Than The Catch" by metal’s Motorhead and "Time To Die" by hardcore/metal band Void.

Prior to entering the film world, hard rocker Zombie scored a series of multiplatinum albums--1992’s La Sexorcisto, 1995’s Astro-Creep: 2000, and 1998’s Hellbilly Deluxe --as well as platinum with 2001’s The Sinister Urge and 2003’s greatest hits collection Past, Present & Future.

In addition to his recording career, Rob Zombie has written and directed several successful feature films including House of 1000 Corpses, the sequel, The Devil’s Rejects, and is the is the producer, writer and director of the forthcoming animated film The Haunted World of El Superbeasto, based on his comic book series, The Adventures of El Superbeasto.

News on Rachel Grubb's new film

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Haunting Kira Gives Horror Movie Actress Something To Scream About

Rachel Grubb looks forward to new female-directed zombie project being shot in Las Vegas

Scream Queen Rachel Grubb has nabbed the lead role in the upcoming Teresa Fahs' film "Haunting Kira," which will shoot in Las Vegas in early 2010. The official announcement was made the day after Comic Con International in San Diego wrapped.

Grubb, the star of the indie horror films "Terror Overload," "Tales of the Dead," "13 Hours in a Warehouse," "Strip Club Slasher," "Camp Kill" and "Cave Women on Mars," said she can't wait to get started on the project.

"I love the script," Grubb said. "It's funny and original with lots of gorey goodness."

With close to 30 projects under her belt already and being a fan of the works of David Cronenberg, Dario Argento and Debbie Rochon, Grubb knows a thing or two about horror films. So fans can trust her when she says "Haunting Kira" is unlike any other zombie feature.

"Seriously, it's nothing like the majority of zombie movies," Grubb said. "Most zombie movies are about the world being chased by animated corpses, and the living having to fight to stay alive. This is only about one zombie, and it's not an epidemic. Instead, it's about a spirit who's discovered a way to infiltrate a corpse. It's a zombie, but this time, the audience has this relationship with his mind. He feels what's happening to him in the rotting vessel and we experience that along with him."

Fahs, a special FX makeup artist for the past decade, has said the script was partly inspired by the works of Stanley Kubrick, Wes Craven and George Romero. Grubb said, she can definitely see that.

"The gore is oozing from every page, and it keeps getting weirder," Grubb said. "The whole time I was reading it, I was imagining the awesome FX work (Fahs) could do on it."

Fahs is the CEO of Gorify.com, a one-stop special effects make-up resource for the do-it-yourself zombie. She has written and is currently seeking funds for "Haunting Kira," which she plans to direct in January and release theatrically on Mother's Day.

"I'm excited about working with a female director on a horror feature," Grubb said. "There needs to be more of that."

Grubb, who is in David Byron's latest book "Queens of Scream: The New Blood" along side Brenna Lee Roth ("Killer Biker Chicks"), Bianca Barnett ("Albino Farm"), Nikki Homicide K ("Zen: Hunter"), Seregon O’Dassey ("Ghost Watcher 2"), April Monique Burril ("Chainsaw Sally") and Monique Dupree ("Bachelor Party in the Bungalow of the Damned"), will be co-producing the film through one of her two production companies in association with Fahs' Gorified Films and Chad Clinton Freeman's Polly Staffle Films.

Fahs is ecstatic to have Grubb on board her directorial debut, which she says will be not only bloody, but also sexy.

"I had the pleasure of working with Rachel on a short project a few months ago, and I'm thrilled to have such a talented horror actress as my lead," Fahs said.

Fahs, dubbed the Godess of Gore by her fans, has described her film as a ghost story, a zombie film, a gorefest, and a strange trip that is like "Being John Malkovich" meets "The Shining" meets "Night of the Living Dead."

She has also promised the film will be filled with paranormal activity, re-animated and decaying corpses, painfully realistic gore, frenzied and meaningful kills, thought-provoking nudity and an ending that she hopes will make audiences want to see it all again and again.

Already the film has been offered distribution and is getting quite a bit of buzz online, including genre site ArrowintheHead.com, which has said the film has "major potential."

Sculpture

Sculpture is a psychological horror gore-fest that tells the story of Ashley Steele (Raine Brown), a struggling artist who returns home after the death of her parents (Marv Blauvelt and Susan Adriensen) only to find her possessive rich older brother, Adam (Dustin Kerns), and the haunting memories of her repressed past await her. Her childhood friend, Emily (Misty Mundae) tries to free her from the grasp of her egotistical brother. Meanwhile she is commissioned by a well known art dealer (Alan Rowe Kelly) to create a life-size sculpture of the perfect man, and uses body builders from her brother's gym as models. Before long she finds herself spiraling down a path of unspeakable psychopathic terror and murder as she frantically tries to complete her masterpiece

Newsflash! Countess Bathoria lives!!!

Melantha Blackthorne is a talented, upcoming actress whose recent credits

include Paul W.S. Anderson's (Soldier, Resident Evil) 'Death Race',

produced by Paula Wagner. Melantha plays the role of Pachenko's (Max Ryan)

navigator who is Jason Statham's (Crank, Transporter) driving nemesis.

Together this evil duo cause no end of problems for Statham's character.

Melantha's most recent project is a starring turn in Sean Michael Argo's

'Teeth of Beasts', produced by Medicine Show Cinema. In this futuristic

indie actioner, Melantha plays the role of mercenary sorceress Lilith Noir

who is a cross between Bruce Willis’ character in Last Man Standing and

Keira Knightly in ‘Domino’.

Melantha has also starred in such films as 'Aversion’, 'Prison Of The

Psychotic Damned', 'Countess Bathoria's Graveyard Picture Show' and many

more!

As a young girl Melantha was always writing little horror stories and

eventually borrowed her father’s video camera to create mini home movies.

As she grew, her taste for horror evolved into something of a fetish and

she began exploring new and unique ways of expressing herself. In 1999 she

created the web character Countess Bathoria that quickly gained popularity

and legions of fans. Melantha's eminence in the genre has now made its way

to the big screen, and is increasing her demand as a performer .

Melantha also co own Robomonkey Productions, which released her

directorial debut 'Sinners and Saints' and most recent atrocity 'Inbred

and Undead', receiving much critical acclaim from numerous horror

magazines and websites.

Melantha is also a well-known horror and fetish model, strutting her

voluptuous figure through the pages of many magazines, calendars and

webzines. She is now slated to appear in NVF Magazine's upcoming book, HOT & Horrifying: The 1st Ladies of Horror, to be released next March! For more updates, go here HOT & HORRIFYING
